Last Thursday, Hubertus Heil, Federal Minister of Labour and Social Affairs and Deputy Federal Chairman of the SPD, visited Sternico. In an exciting conversation we exchanged views on the changes in the world of work intensified by the Corona pandemic. We reported on our concrete measures and the permanent changes, Mr. Heil gave an insight into the plans and aspirations driven by politics.

We also presented the far-reaching involvement of our employee representatives in the management of Sternico. This innovative corporate philosophy met with interest and we want to continue to exchange ideas on this topic in the future.

The project is a cooperation between Sternico and the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt. The DISTINplus project aims to fully digitalise the order processing process for the maintenance of locomotives and freight wagons, thereby increasing the efficiency and competitiveness of rail freight transport.

The DISTINplus project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure with 2.7 million euros as part of the federal programme "Future of Rail Freight Transport".

In recent months, COMAP customers have been provided with numerous new functionalities to use COMAP even more effectively. We added a new component 'notification center' to handle events and send notifications via mail and/or SMS. This component will be extended by new events to fulfill more and more customer needs. Other functionalities that we added with this release are:

This great idea helps children and young people from socially disadvantaged families to have more equal opportunities in times of homeschooling. The Braunschweig initiative "HEY ALTER" voluntarily recycles discarded laptops and computers from private households and companies, which are then passed on to needy families via the schools.

By now, 1875 devices have been delivered nationwide and children have been made happy.
Sternico has supported this great project with 4 laptops as well.

The new DISPOLINO app for mainline locomotive drivers is now available and has been delivered to the first customers. With this app, train drivers can start and end train journeys and record damage. The app is available for both Android and iOS.
